Fairytale Land for a Princess
So your little girl is your princess, how about changing her bedroom into her own fairytale land? It won’t cost you as much as you might think. Budget yourself and get some inexpensive things and you can soon give your little girl a room that she will love. Use of velvets, pink satin, and some dark wood furnishings will soon have a fairytale look.
The first step to making the fairytale land is to remove all the furnishings from the room. Pick either a soft pink color or even nice light lavender, paint the walls. These colors will match the dark wood that you want to furnish the room in. Plus either color will work great if you want to add a fancy looking fairytale mural to the wall.
For accessories in the room and decor you should stick to pinks, purples and even teal. These colors will add a feeling of energy to the room, but still will be comfortable and warm too. For curtains in the room stick with nice velvet, this will help to keep sun out of the room and will create a nice fairytale haven for your daughter.
Using an area rug that is themed for a princess will add the perfect touch to the room. Get one that is thicker and will feel wonderful when your daughter steps on it with her bare feet. Plus the rug will help to keep the noise down in the room.
With the bed you should try and look for a four poster bed that is dark wood. This will add an elegant feeling to the room. If you don’t have one already you can refinish the bed you have and change the varnish to a nice dark color and make a pink canopy to go on the bed.
Buying some furniture that has the right look from second hand stores will help to make this room look great. Check out flea markets too for some great deals.
Adding in some gold or silver trinkets to the room are a nice touch too. Use one of the colors to hold back the drapes, or use some fake pearls. These will all add to the elegance of the room. Of try getting a mirror and painting the frame a nice gold color this will give your princess a nice looking mirror to fix herself up in. Don’t worry though the cost of this room can be kept down to a reasonable amount and your daughter will be delighted.
