The significance of hotel diversity
There is a significant difference between getting an average hotel; a fabulous hotel suite designed for the rich; and a boutique hotel. Boutique hotels usually are not part of the large chains and usually provide a unique experience for their guests. A classic boutique hotel will focus the experience of those staying there around a unique or historical trait, whether it is the surroundings or something unique about the building; perhaps the land the building was built on. It is definitely more of a private or individual experience for those who stay in a boutique hotel that will differ from all others. Usually, a theme will be incorporated.
Depending on the theme or the significance of the location, building or artefacts involved, you could be looking at a cheap yet highly significant experience, or you could be looking at a highly expensive visit. Either way, a boutique hotel would be an ideal location for tourists or for those who prefer not to support the large big business chains and who invest more in the significant role of a hotel – while learning and experiencing something in the process. Sometimes boutique hotels have style that crosses over between a hotel and a bed-and-breakfast venue. You can really find some interesting boutique hotels, some with themes of haunting or burlesque shows, or simply old style and an old fashioned beauty that gives you an antique, almost rustic feeling. These are things that many look for to get away from all the glam and glitz or ‘plain Jane’ approach of corporate chains.
If you are planning on taking a trip somewhere, instead of staying at the average hotel, why not do some research and find a boutique spot to set up home for a few days? Not only could doing this possibly save you money, it would probably lead to a much more eventful and rich experience. Hotels should not be all about five stars and getting plates of food that are considered high class but would not fill the stomach of the average person, or being waited on hand and foot. Hotels should not get their appeal from the amount of money you have to spend on them. There are plenty of more culturally or historically significant locations to post up for a few nights than the average factory built room. Should there not be more of these locations instead of the large chains of average rooms that are taking over?
There is a wide range of boutique hotels out there if you know where to look. You’ll be astonished at the number of luxury boutique hotels you can find in the UK.
