Perfect night for a murder!

For a rather short period of time I really wanted to become a top chef. I had loved cooking from a very young age but although I had a real passion for it, I just wasn’t very good. My mother had tried to subtly point this out on a number of occasions but her opinion obviously fell on deaf ears. Consequently I set about taking my NVQs and got myself a job as a kitchen helper in a local restaurant.

The restaurant had an Italian kitchen and the chefs were all very nice to me. My job was simply to prepare vegetables and keep the place tidy. It wasn’t challenging and the restaurant were very pleased with the job I did. I sometimes asked them to let me prepare a proper meal but they always refused. I think they knew I wasn’t going to last too long in the industry.

There were a variety of other people working in the kitchen including a lady called Mary and a young lad called Joe. I was aware that Joe had led a very colourful existence and that he had been in prison on occasion. However he seemed to have turned his life around and we got on quite well. He even used to give me a lift home in his Alto London car. Therefore you can imagine how cold I went when I recently saw his face on the local newspaper. He has gone back to prison and this time for the murder of a young female who it is believed he worked with. Very very scary. It definitely makes you think.
