Finally ready to buy a bike

My passion for cycling drives my wife crazy, as I would sit in front of the TV every weekend and watch every event that is related to cycling. Last weekend I watched the Giro d’Italia, where one of my favourite cyclists, Alberto Contador, won for the second time, finishing six minutes and 10 seconds ahead of Italy’s Michele Scarponi.

The Madrid-born rider, Alberto Contador, said: “It is an amazing feeling to win the Giro here today and it is a dream finale. My team was really supportive throughout and we didn’t really have a bad day.”

Last year I was gutted when I heard that the Spanish cycling authorities had suspended Alberto Contador for allegedly taking a prohibited substance, but early this year his one-year ban was rescinded and his hearing has been postponed until after the Tour de France in July.

In this year’s race he captured two stage wins and held the leader’s jersey for 13 days on his way to a victory which is owed much to his excellent performance in the mountains. The 28-year-old now hopes of winning a fourth Tour De France title, which will draw him level with Lance Armstrong for Grand Tour victories.

My wife finds it strange that I love cycling but I don’t own a bike, so I decided it was time to buy myself a new bike in Norwich and even start taking part in races. First I will need to do some research about bikes and then decided which one is best to buy.
