Special Cards for Special Birthdays
It used to be that when birthday invitations were needed for a party, a person merely went to the store and bought a pack of pre-printed standard cards and filled in the information about the party on the inside of the card. Now, though those types of invitation cards still exist, many people prefer hand-made birthday invitations that are personalized to the child and the theme of the party.
Birthday Invitations
It is so easy to customize printable birthday invitations. A person wishing to send invitations that make a statement about the party can either purchase pre-packaged card materials and make the cards, or make the invitations totally individualized by buying the card stock and letting the imagination take over. If the party has a theme, select a color for the invitations and a design that will portray the theme of the party.
All that is required to make personalized cards are nice, heavy paper stock, envelopes sized to the paper, a decent printer, scissors and glue. Start by determining if the invitation will be a folded card or a postcard-styled invitation. The words can be printed in black or any other color, just make sure that the ink will come out dark and clear when the paper goes through the printer, and that the ink color is easily read on the color of the paper. A regular sheet of paper or perforated card stock can also be used to print the words for the inside of the invitation and then glued inside of the card. This way several inside words can be printed at a time on one sheet of paper.
The next step is to customize the front of the printable birthday invitations. Any fabric store will have stocks of pretty ribbon, glitter, and bows. There are many paper stores that have all types of accessories for decorating themed cards. Make a couple samples of the outside of the card to determine how it will look.
Baby’s First Birthday Invitations
Baby’s first birthday is a time of celebration so make the first birthday invitations special. Family pictures or really cute pictures of the baby on the invitation make it into a keepsake. Since the first birthday party is really for the adults, the invitation can be designed as a memento of the baby rather than an invitation for children.
