Family reunion
My sister is coming to visit me after a very long time, it will be the first time I will see her little girl, as I couldn’t go visit when she was born. She said she will be travelling here by train and she wants to me hire a car for the weekend when she arrives.
I was in a panic, I need to find a place that does car hire in Scotland at such short notice, and my local only has vans. But then I realised that the hire company need to be next to the train station, as she will be driving it to my place.
I offered to pick her up but she didn’t want me to miss work just to do that, when she is capable of coming on her own. But I told her if she has any problem to let me know, and I will come straight away.
I’m a little nervous this time, as it will be the first time that my sister will meet my girlfriend. As I was growing up, I remember my sister would interrogate my girlfriend, and if she didn’t like the answers, she would ask me to dump her.
My girlfriend is more nervous than me, she’s worried about my sister not liking her and then asking me to dump her. I just laughed and told not to be silly, as we aren’t teenagers no more. I know my sister and my girlfriend will get on really well.
