Addison Chevy dealership loving sharper, more efficient 2013 Malibu

The Malibu made a huge come-back a couple of years ago and has been wowing buyers ever since. This is more like the original Malibu we remember from decades past, not the scaled-down model of more recent years.

Your Addison Chevy dealership is confident that buyers will be even more impressed with the 2012 Malibu, which offers better efficiency and more technology. With fuel economy numbers at 26 mpg city and 38 mpg highway, the Malibu retains its power. Now that’s impressive.

The Malibu ECO was well-received at the recent New York International Auto Show and one of the most impressive features was the eAssist ‘light electrification’ technology that helps achieve those impressive mileage numbers. The eAssist system work by using a lithium-ion battery and electric motor-generator to operate regenerative braking electric assist and start-stop functions.

Although the new Malibu won’t be available until early next year we do know that it will be available in three trim levels – LS, LT and LTZ. Prices haven’t been disclosed as of yet. Customers of Bensenville used cars won’t likely be disappointed, though.

Malibu ECO has an exterior that aids efficiency as well, with a more aerodynamic shape. Part of the design includes lower grille shutters that close when higher speeds are reached to move the air around the car.
Customers of the Addison Chevy dealership can count on the 2.4-liter Ecotec direct-injection four-cylinder with six-speed automatic, partnered with the eAssist system to deliver an efficient ride. Because the engine is lightweight, even more efficiency is achieved.
Plenty of new features can be found in the 2012 Malibu ECO, such as enhanced authority continuously variable valve timing, electronic thermostat and variable-displacement oil pump. The Malibu will be built in several locations internationally, but in the U.S. it will come from the Fairfax, Kansas and Detroit-Hamtramck plants.

So for Bensenville used cars buyers who are sold on the Malibu (and who wouldn’t be after the last couple of models), the Malibu ECO is an alternative worth considering on the green front. The Malibu also has some nice cosmetic updates and will probably have the latest technological gadgets by the time it arrives in 2012.

Although Chevrolet has led the eco race with the Cruze model, hybrid technology has not been a huge movement within the line as whole. Perhaps General Motors took note of the popularity of the latest Malibu models and decided to cash in on those wanting a cleaning, more efficient ride.

There’s certainly nothing wrong with that and what better place to start offering hybrid technology than with an already-popular model. This is a good move on the part of GM and I look for more of their popular models to offer a wider array of hybrid alternatives.
