My grandfather lived through hell, twice, and wrote an e-book about it. He is 83

Meet our Grandpa, he’s 83 years old. We call him ‘Mis’ /Meesh/, which means ‘bear’ in Polish, he gave himself a pen name of ‘Andrzej Anonimus’. (Andrzej=Andrew, Anonimus = Latin for Anonymous).

Retired, our grandpa became writer. What makes our grandpa really incredible is that he totally embraced computers to do it, and now he has embraced the Internet too.

He’s been using a PC since the early 90’s… In love with the Internet, he is the most digital grandpa you could ever meet. He’s got his own website, contributes to Wikipedia, has a few email addresses, Linked-in account, Skype, Twitter, Paypal account and several Instant Messenger accounts… and so on… His Facebook fan page is now approaching 1500 fans! Most importantly, he always has a word processor window open, working on his literary masterpiece. ‘Time is running out, so I have to make best of every day’, he says.

What does our grandpa write about? As most other grandpas do when they write, he writes about the best time of his life, the time when he was young… Unfortunately, this was the same time when World War two broke out, and Poland was in the thick of it. World War 2 is never an easy topic, with many atrocities and defeats, placing his home land in to the lowest depths of despair. Yet our grandpa has managed paint the landscape with some remarkable experiences from his childhood. He explains world war II form his perspective, giving us some colorful anecdotes of close encounters with death, which he always loved telling us when we were kids! (Incidentally, these days he just quotes the chapter and page number that we should read)

Despite over 20 years of continuous labor, our grandpa has had little success with his work. He spent nearly all of his retirement money on writing, and he has not made a cent back at all. What we have to admire is our grandpa’s character – is that he never gives up, and he seems like the most positive and happy old man if you meet him in person. All that he wishes is that some people come to visit his site, read some of his material, and perhaps recommend it to others.
