Features and Benefits Of Microfiber Sectional Seating
If you are in the market for a good sectional but don’t want to spend a lot of money, one made out of microfiber should provide you with the best bang for your buck. Take a look at the many benefits that this low cost, high quality material provides.
One huge benefit to getting a microfiber sectional is that they are generally much more affordable than sectionals made out of other materials, such as leather. You can usually save several hundred or even a couple thousand dollars by opting for microfiber. Why is this? Microfiber is a cheap, durable synthetic fiber that can be easily mass produced. It’s basically polyester, and many times it’s recycled out of things such as plastic bottles. Compare this to genuine leather, which has to be harvested from cows. It takes a lot of money to raise cows, carefully remove their hides, and treat and prepare them for the assembly process.
Microfiber also has the distinct characteristic of being able to regulate heat and moisture better. This is due to it being a much more breathable fabric compared to other types of fabrics such as cotton and leather, so air circulates better across its fibers keeping it cooler. This self ventilating feature also helps dry up moisture within the fabric before it can build up excessively, keeping it nice and dry. However, the fabric itself has moisture-wicking properties that make it hard for moisture to absorb into it. This means that you can sit or lay on your microfiber sectional for long periods of time, without having to worry too much about overheating or getting sweaty.
Microfiber is highly resistant to stains. This can be explained by the moisture wicking properties described above. In many cases, any liquids that may spill onto it simply beads onto the surface so that it can be easily wiped up. Any stains that do end up accumulating on the fabric can easily be wiped off with a mild upholstery cleaner and sponge.
If you haven’t noticed already, since microfiber fabric is easier to manufacturer, microfiber sectionals there’s a wider range of colors to choose from. If you want your sectional to match a rustic theme, you can easily find a sectional in earthy colors like chocolate burnt orange. If you want to match a contemporary theme you can just as easily find a sectional in bright colors such as red, yellow, and midnight blue. They are also not limited to solid colors, you can find many of them with multi-color schemes and patterns if you fancy that.
