Alfa Romeo 4C Concept to Debut at the 2011 Festival of Speed
As Jeremy Clarkson once famously said on the BBC’s Top Gear program, everyone should own at least one Alfa Romeo in their lifetime. Owning and driving an Alfa is an indescribable feeling, the Italian interior is just so beautiful, and the exterior stance is of speed and athleticism.
June marks 101 years of Alfa Romeo producing beautiful cars. The Italian brand will celebrate the occasion in July at the 2011 Goodwood Festival of Speed, which this year will be on the 1st through to the 3rd of July.
At the Goodwood Festival of Speed Alfa Romeo will mark its 101 years by unveiling the latest evolution of Alfa Romeo’s design and technology, the mid-engined two seater, rear wheel drive Alfa 4C Concept.
The 4C is a pure bred racer, Alfa Romeo Guildford have put a lot of research and time behind this project to source the lightest, strongest and durable materials. Materials used in the 4C include carbon fibre and aluminium, which in conjunction with a 200bhp 1750 TBi 4 cylinder petrol engine produce a power-to-weight ratio lower than 4kg per bhp, a top speed of 155mph and a 0-62mph time of less than 5 seconds.
Alfa Romeo will take the opportunity to showcase the latest variations of current models, joining the 4C will be the updated Alfa Romeo MiTo Quadrifoglio Verde- also on its UK debut, the Alfa Romeo Giulietta Cloverleaf and the Alfa Romeo 159 Sportwagon.
To showcase the historic success of Alfa Romeo there will be five iconic cars from the Alfa Romeo museum collection in Italy, including Fangio’s Alfa 6C 3000CM, which alongside the Alfetta 159, will celebrate the 60th anniversary of Fangio’s historic 1951 Formula One World Championship title, as well as the Alfa 6C 1750GS, Alfa 750 Competizione and the Alfa 33 TT 12.
