For years you’ve been performing the same exercises and now imagine your frustration if you found out you’d been doing them wrong. Think about the person who gets injured because of incorrect form and information. These real considerations happen all the time. That is why it’s so important to make sure you get your information from experts and credible sources. Your health is depending on you doing your research because bad information can be found everywhere. The following information on health and fitness is solid.
We have all heard that swimming is a great way to lose weight. This is a fallacy. Losing weight is not a benefit you will gain from swimming although there are many other benefits you will gain. Jogging or running offer a real workout whereas swimming does not since your body is supported by the buoyancy of the water rather than the work of your body.
No pain, no gain. That’s the only way to do it and get great results. That statement too is incorrect because of the potential for serious injury. There is of course a difference between having a good workout and being in serious pain. If you experience pain after a workout that doesn’t go away or only appears to be getting worse, stop doing the activity. You will only cause yourself more complications by continuing an exercise that is causing you pain.
The myth we hear most is “I don’t have time to exercise. All it takes really is 45 minutes to an hour a week. Then, a thirty minute workout can be fit in on the weekend, perhaps. That minimal amount is vastly better than nothing at all. You can even do some at work or at the park with your kids. Jumping rope, taking a walk or just stretching and doing simple exercises at your desk or even in your apartment is better than not doing anything at all. Three ten minute slots in our schedules is easy for anyone to find. It’s really important to sort the truth from fiction if you are new to working out. Because you are still forming your fitness habits, this is extremely important. You will have to go through a painful re-education later if you form the wrong habits now. Forming good habits is crucial not only to your success but to actually sticking with your fitness routine.
