Retired Intrepid Museum President, Bill White Books First NY Legal Gay Wedding

New York, NY – Bill White, retired Intrepid President, secured a place in history by booking the first legal gay wedding ever held at the Four Seasons Restaurant in NYC. The announcement came shortly after New York’s state Senate passed the bill to legalize gay marriage in New York, 33-to-29.
Bill White, former Intrepid President and currently the Chairman and CEO of Constellations Group and his partner of eight years, Bryan Eure, a successful commercial insurance broker for WILLIS, have planned their wedding for September 25, 2011 at the Four Seasons Restaurant. Bill White and Bryan Eure were originally married in the Maldives six years ago and will now make it an official union in New York.
The official New York union between Bill White and Bryan Eure will be the first legal gay marriage to ever be held at the Four Seasons Restaurant and will include a ceremony and reception representative of simple sophistication. The Four Seasons, a Manhattan landmark and recognized as one of the most beautiful restaurants in the world, is the perfect venue for the wedding of Bill White and Bryan Eure, both longtime residents of New York City. The Four Seasons was built on the philosophy that “less is more”. Four Seasons co-owner Julian Niccolini added, “There’s a new way of doing business at the Four Seasons on a Sunday afternoon.”
Bill White’s good friend Don Imus will officiate the ceremony and lawyer David Boies will serve as a best man. “We’re going to have something very simple, but masculine,” noted Bill White.
Harriette Rose Katz Events will coordinate the affair for the couple.
The Episcopal Bishop of New Hampshire His Excellency Gene Robinson will bless the marriage once legal in Saint Barts Cathedral on Park Avenue that evening.
Bill White believes that a low ball estimate of how “awesome” this will be for the economy is based on the over 50,000 couples who will likely be married shortly in New York. At a rate of just $50,000 a wedding this could generate over $2.5B in revenue.
White and Eure are grateful to Governor Andrew Cuomo, the New York State Senate and Assembly and Mayor Mike Bloomberg for their leadership in making this happen.
