Gall Bladder Diet – Prevent Gall Bladder Diseases
Gall bladder is located close to liver and it releases bile juices which are passed into the small intestine where the juices help in digestion. A person can suffer from gallstones or related problems of gallbladder if the bile juices containing cholesterol are secreted in excess as compared to the need of the body. To reduce the level of cholesterol in bile juice one should reduce the consumption of high fat diet. The problem is also caused by excess weight gain and people who are trying to reduce weight should be cautious as they can suffer from the problem. People who try to get rid of excess fat by taking fat free diet are vulnerable to gall bladder disease because the bile secreted for digestion of fat is not utilized by the body and it remains in body in crystallized or stones forms.
Basically, gallstones are bile pigments or calcium stones which are formed from excess cholesterol and to reduce the symptoms of gallstones a diet which can shrink or break the stones should be taken. The diet chart designed for an individual depends on his body type and therefore, not all the mentioned item prescribed in the diet is suitable for every individual.
To reduce the problems of gall bladder stones one should take following diet.
1. One should increase intake of carbohydrate such as cereals, rice and bread but avoid refined grains.
2. Eat a low fat diet which includes skimmed milk, cheese and fat yoghurt.
3. One can increase intake of leaner meat instead of taking high fat meat products.
4. Omega 3 oils can be taken to reduce cholesterol formation. Omega 3 oil is found in fish.
5. Ginger and turmeric should be added in each meal as it helps in reducing gall bladder problems and it improves the flow of bile to help in fat digestion.
6. There are a number of spices which posses’ antiseptic properties and it can be taken in the diet.
7. Increase intake of fibrous diets such as fruits and vegetables. But fruit juices should not be taken instead take fruits in raw form. Some of the fruits and vegetables which are good are apples, pears, figs, grapes, papaya, melon, lemons, avocadoes, artichokes, beet, cucumber, carrots and sweet potatoes. Garlic and onion are good at cleansing the liver but it should be taken raw or cooked not in artificial form.
8. Lemon juice can be taken early in the morning and vegetable juices such as juice of beet and cucumber can be taken.
What to avoid?
1. One should reduce intake of onion, cabbage, legumes, cauliflower, chocolate, alcohol, black tea, corn, nuts, white flour, artificial sweeteners, nuts etc. Eggs have been found to cause the symptoms in more than 95% of cases.
2. One should avoid making drastic changes in diet for weight loss.
3. Avoid intake of fast food which contain hidden fat.
4. One can take olive oil, vinegar and flax oil dishes.
5. At one time one should not take heavy meal. Instead small meals can be taken many time in a day.
6. One should not go to bed immediately after taking a meal.
7. Avoid food which causes allergies and avoid smoking. Avoid food which contains gluten such as wheat, rye, barley etc.
