This botanical garden has maintained a collection of over 12,000 different species of plants.
Lal Bagh Botanical Garden, Bangalore: Founded by Hyder Ali, the ruler of Mysore, this botanical garden is also known as the Red Garden.
Lloyd’s Botanical Garden, Darjeeling, and West Bengal: The name of this garden comes after the man who provided the land for its foundation, William Lloyd. One can find many different species of Bamboo, oak, Magnolia, Cotoneaster, wild geranium and rhododendron in this garden.
Botanical Garden, Sarangpur and Chandigarh: The foundation of this botanical garden was laid on 30th May, 2002. Its most famous part is the Medicinal Garden. Within the medicinal garden, researchers can study about 75 different species of medicinal plants and 55 species of medicinal shrubs.
Other famous botanical gardens of India are – IFGTB Botanical Garden (Alipore, Kolkata), TNAU Botanical Garden (Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu), Jhansi Botanical Garden (Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh), Saharanpur Botanical Garden (Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh), Tropical Botanical Garden and Research Institute (Kerala).
