Great changes for June

Bentley made two announcements in June, one was a new partnership, and the other was a new a Communications Director for Bentley.

Bentley’s new partnership with Swedish company Autoropa, will be responsible for the market as well as opening a new dealership in Malmo. A new Bentley sales and service facility will open in September 2011, however sales are commencing immediately.

Autoropa specialises in representing and showcasing premier motor companies, with new headquarters which opened in May 2011, where the Bentley showroom will be located.

Thomas Kiesele, Operations Director Europe for Bentley Motors, says: “We have chosen this Swedish partner because of its luxury car expertise, professionalism, many years of experience in the Swedish market and its strong marketing. We are sure they will meet Bentley’s high standards of sales and service. ”

Michael Baumann has been appointed as Communications Director for Bentley, which took effect from 1st June 2011. He will directly report to Wolfgang Durheimer in his role as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Bentley Motors.

Durheimer said: “We are working continuously on the further development of the Bentley brand. With Michael Baumann we now have an internationally experienced communications expert from the premium segment on board. He will give a fresh impetus to the positive business trend we are experiencing at Bentley.”

Baumann joined Porsche AG’s press department in 2003, and has been responsible for International PR since 2005. Prior to working for Porsche, Michael worked at WirtschaftsWoche, as the New York based correspondent.

Mike Hawes is currently responsible for Bentley PR, and will remain as head of corporate and government affairs, an area which has increasing importance for the company. He will report to Michael Baumann.
