The best exclusive cars of this century
If you’re one of those people who drive around in a car which looks identical to that of your neighbour it’s easy to start dreaming of owning a million pound supercar nobody else can match. But unless your name is Jay Kay or Chris Evans, like the rest of us, you’re left with the dream.
But if you go through a list of some of the best exclusive cars offered by car manufactures in this century, it doesn’t just include super-expensive supercars but also have some more affordable cars on offer too.
In the supercar category we first of all have the Ferrari SA Aperta with only 80 made in the world. It was based on a 599 and came with no roof. It had a 6.0 litre V12 engine which delivered 661 bhp. And it was bright red. Then there is the Lamborghini Reventon with its batwing doors. It was inspired by a fighter jet but was all Murcielago under the exterior. The 20 cars which were made cost a mere £840,000 each.
A more affordable exclusive car made was the Citroen DS3R with 200 made for the UK market. It comes with a 200 bhp 1.6-litre petrol engine and will cost you somewhere in the region of £25,000 with a few miles on the clock. It looks modern with black spray and orange trim. If you’re interested in trying one out, Citroen, Trowbridge might be able to help you find one.
Another rare but more affordable car is the Ford Focus RS500 with only 500 made. It has 345 bhp and does 0-62mph in just 5.4 seconds. It comes in black only and a 2010 model will probably set you back around £40,000.
Lastly we want to feature the Mercedes McLaren SLR Stirling Moss, a speedster launched as a tribute to the legendary British racing driver. It produced 640bph and did 0-62 mph in less than 3.5 seconds. The 75 cars that were sold only went to current SLR owners for the princely sum of 750,000 Euros each.
