Honduran Flags Hoisted On Flagpoles
International flags of for sale in and outside of the United States of America commonly include this particular national banner. My wife just returned from a trip to South America and was very much impressed with culture of all kinds of South American countries. Honduras, for example, has been independent for more than 100 years. The current Honduras flag as attached to modern flagpoles features elements that reflect some of the republic’s history and ambition.
The design of the flag of Honduras is very much similar to that of the federation, which came to an end in the years 1838 to 1839. The use of the blue color is prominent and is said to represent the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean. Also, five blue colored stars are shown on the middle white band of the national banner.
The republic is a country located in South America and formerly officially called Spanish Honduras. This name was given to the territory to differentiate it from British Honduras, which in modern times is called Belize. The republic is border by two seas, the Caribbean Sea to the east and the Pacific Ocean to the west.
Back in the day, and following the horrible attack on Pearl Harbor by Japan, the republic of Honduras joined the United Nations on 12/8/1941. They weren’t the only country to join. Twenty five other nations signed the so-called “Declaration by United Nations” along with Honduras on the first day of ’42.
Interestingly, ships that sail on behalf of the Republic of Honduras fly the current national banner as an ensign from naval flag poles. The actual flies a different flag or ensign however. This particular variant uses a version of the national flag in which the 5 star emblem is substituted by the coat of arms of the country.
Those of you interested in the national Honduran flags, consider searching around for international flags for sale. Most banners and flags sold in the United States are of good quality. Custom size international flags can be subject to flag guidelines and laws. Those flying an international flag in combination with Old Glory from flagpoles have to adhere to the guidelines as presented in the United States Flag Code.
