Subaru XV Concept
Not to be left behind in the crossover vehicle market, Subaru unveiled a concept crossover model at the Shanghai Motor Show this year. Named the XV, Subaru says it defines a new generation of crossover vehicle – a combination of SUV practicality and a fashionable form.
The Subaru XV Concept is said to combine crossover style driving dynamism with what the designers call a “playful nature”. The key concept is the integration of authentic functionality but with urban, stylish design. The designers were instructed to create a vehicle that can blend the commanding silhouette seen around the lower half of the body with a fashionable image in a single, modern package.
Keeping in line with Subaru’s design mantra and philosophy the XV has a hexagon grille along with other tell-tale Subaru elements such as the winged motif and hawk-eye headlights. On the XV concept the centre of the grille is the same colour as the body itself, which helps contribute to the solid and powerful look.
The rear of the XV concept features the same hexagonal design as the front end, metallic decorations define the hexagonal shape further, whilst more hexagons are engraved into the clear blue base under the license plate. You can imagine seeing the XV and it blending in perfect with any other used Subaru in Kent.
In the XV concept on display at the show white leather seats and a touch panel multi-information display dominate the centre panel, providing the driver with easy access and control to the navigation and audio systems. Subaru’s driver support system Eyesight is included, with an LCD monitor allow the driver to check the images captured with the EyeSight’s stereo cameras.
