Chevrolet SpART

Founder of Popbang Colour motoring art, Ian Cook, designed the Chevrolet SpART last year, by creating images of the Chevrolet Spark in Scotland and other projects with Chevrolet. Now Ian Cook has given the opportunity to the followers of his work to send their designs, which will then be used on the Chevrolet SpART. The car is used as a moving gallery to showcase Ian Cook’s work.

Unfortunately, the Chevrolet SpART was a victim to a break-in, with the thieves damaging the car’s door frame and side panels. Whilst the damage was only cosmetic, it did mean some of SpART’s livery had to be removed in the body shop.

Ian is currently driving the car with the words “Blank Canvas” on the sides and bonnet, whilst he waits for is fans to submit new ideas for the SpART’s new look.

Ian, who lives in Solihull, West Midlands, said “I was gutted; they clearly wanted to steal the car as they’d also had a go at the ignition barrel, but most of the damage was to the driver’s side door. My SpART looked very silly indeed with two plain blue doors, so there really was only one thing I could do, start again! I’ve a few ideas but I’m also open to suggestions from those who follow my work. Anything goes, so no matter how bizarre your idea might be, I want to know. The best ideas will be applied on to the car in one way or another – but they have to be a bit wacky, and support the youth appeal and funkiness of the Spark as well as represent both what Popbang and Chevrolet stand for.”
