Online charts, apps assist pathway oil spill
A program by a Google Map technician permits users contrast the dimensions of the Gulf oil spill to well-known locations like Washington.
With charts, apps and databases, the online community is employed to assist display the world the scope, and impairment, of the Gulf Coast oil spill.
An April 20 blast at an offshore oil rig belongs to by BP started discarding oil into the Gulf, with some increasing to the exterior and coming to the fragile wetlands along the seaboard area of Louisiana.

Rademacher had before worked on Google efforts to journal impairment, and answer efforts, throughout the earthquakes in Chile and Haiti.
Also revealed this week was Oil Reporter, a new app for the iPhone and Android smartphone schemes that permits inhabitants of the Gulf Coast upload photographs and videos of what they glimpse, along with notes about it.
