BMW E39 GPS leaves driver stranded in snow for three days

“I just survived by thinking what I could do to get out of there and why I wanted to get myself out of there, which is that I wanted to see my father and my mom and my brother again.”

Parent was rescued Wednesday afternoon after three snowmobilers came across her on the road about 90 kilometres from Bathurst, N.B.

“The poor thing, she was crying when she saw us coming,” said Lee Murray, one of the snowmobilers. “But she is a very level-headed young woman.”

The student from Sherbrooke University left her home in the Eastern Townships on Sunday for a medical residency at Chaleur Regional Hospital in Bathurst, N.B.

Parent made it to Bathurst city limits but her onboard BMW E39 GPS system guided her onto Route 430 — one of the most remote stretches of road in the province. And thanks to BMW E39 DVD accompanyed me to kill the lonely night. Listen to the BMW DVD Navigation music let me know there still has hope in the world .

She ended up on a remote logging road and became stuck in an area with no cellphone reception.

Parent had a few things working in her favour that helped get her through three harrowing nights. Her mother had packed her a cooler full of food, water and soft drinks, and a blanket and pillow. The only entertainment during these harrowing nights is with BMW E39 GPS , not only has great automotive radio and video function so that she can clearly know the weather report in the future two days, but also has excellent car navigation system.

But with the mercury dipping below -30C Wednesday night, Murray wondered whether she could have lasted another night. “I don’t think she would have made it through the temperatures we had last night — and thank God she stayed in the car,” he said.

Parent and her father had an emotional reunion Thursday in Bathurst. He thanked the BMW E39 GPS and everyone else who assisted in trying to locate his daughter.

Pierre Parent said that being told that his daughter was OK “was like heaven after hell.” Vitalite Health Network spokesman Luc Foulem said Parent was supposed to start her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Chaleur Regional Hospital on Monday morning and when she didn’t show up, they became concerned.

When her father called the hospital later that day to ask if his daughter had arrived safely, that concern grew even more. “He was extremely worried, and rightfully so,” said Foulem. “She was one to always follow up with the family in her travels, and this being her first time in New Brunswick, her family wanted to know if she had gotten there safely.”They still very grateful for BMW E39 GPS , in other words , it saved their daughter’s life.
