Starcraft 2 Protoss Guide – 3 Secret Tactics You Must Know

Protoss is a great race to play if you’re new to Starcraft 2. In my opinion, they are possibly the easiest race to acquire a handle on. And in this Starcraft 2 Protoss guide I’m going to cover 3 very simple to use and easy to follow tips, as well as 1 really easy build order that I personally utilize.

Build up Your Overall economy

Simply put, if you’re able to get to the late phases of the game and also amass a huge army of very, very expensive powerful units then the game is yours. However, your opponents are not going to just sit around and permit you to build up your economy, which means you must find ways to distract them.

Zealot rush! It’s one of the most challenging early rushes to shield against, and all you need to do is to get a few gateways built early. This way through the use of pressure on your opposition with early zealot rush you’ll have the time for you to build-up your economy for a much more sturdy late game strategy.

Use Map Terrains to Your Rewards (Choke Point)

Being a good Protoss player it is advisable for one to make use of map terrains to their personal advantages. In general, Protoss has stronger units than the other two races, but they’ll also have fewer numbers of units compared to other 2 races so it is wise to use map terrains such as choke points for leverage. Choke points restricts the quantity of units that may be directed at once because they are narrow. Simply stack up your units, and arrange your ranged units at the rear of the melee units. This simple tweak in the manner you manage your current army will significantly enhance your winning ration!

Wall-in Defense Strategy

Walls are typically associated with Terran players, on the other hand they can also be important for guarding yourself from Speedling/Zergling rush from the Zerg players who will quite often storm into your base and take apart your entire probe force, and thus halting your development.

My Basic Starting Build – Early Stalker & Sentries

At the start of the game, I like to protect my game simply by pushing with Stalkers along with Sentries. Those two units work well collectively.

In order to develop a good amount of Stalkers and Sentries, having earlier gas is essential. 1st make a Zealot to guard the base in case of any early rushes from your opponent.

Now produce nothing except for Stalkers in addition to Sentries once Cybernetics Core is finished. The ratio needs to be around 1/3 sentries in addition to 2/3 stalkers. The reason why you want sentries is because Force Field is pretty effective at the beginning of Protoss versus Protoss games.

Once you have adequate Stalkers and Sentries, attack without hesitation. Don’t present your opponent with time to create Immortals or to tech up. Once your troops arrive at the opponent’s base, simply employ Force Fields to separate your opponent’s units especially Zealots, block them from charging at your units and strike hit with your stalkers.
