Different people have different perspectives and circumstances which lead them to diverse decision making. As for cheap moving boxes, they can mean anything from a used and unacceptable container to a used and sturdy one. The choice always rests on the buyer and in these times of recurring recessions, there is no harm going in for these and saving a penny in the process.All the more important if you move on a regular basis.
Price alone is not a differentiator to choose a cheap moving box. The quality of the box, the reason for choosing a box in the first place, should not be forgotten. You would want to use your ‘I’ve-always-been-a-regular’ trump card to get a huge discount on the quote. Make sure you get the sturdy ones with consistent sizes so it does not hamper your end objective.
Online: Everything has gone online these days. Go ahead and Google a bit to understand where you have these available. Going online also lets you compare prices between different retailers. To beat competition, some websites might offer to throw in an extra couple of things as a deal.
The downside: While the one objective to go in for cheap boxes is primarily the cost factor, there are other arguments why you should not. Two main theories exist – environmental hazard and the cleanliness factor. You never know what was inside the box earlier, before you decide to keep your toothbrush in it. Besides, there might be cases where insects or insect eggs have been in the box and this poses an extreme health hazard. You never know, the box got moist earlier and was dried out – therefore compromising its strength and durability for which it was made in the first place.
These might seem very unimportant given the gigantic task of moving. There is a danger in pushing this fact under the carpet. Imagine the consequences of a member of the family taking ill due to health hazard. Imagine the consequences if your new home were to become infested with tiny insects.
