The Golden temple also known by the names of Sri Darbar Sahib and Sri Harmandir Sahib is located in the city Amritsar in Punjab. The doors of the temple have the dimensions of 10 feet in length and 8 feet in width. The four doors are located in all the four direction i.e. East, West, North and South respectively. The doors are decorated with the artistic work to make them more admirable. The doors open to the bridge which can direct you towards the main gate of the Golden temple.
This pathway or more specifically, a bridge is known as the Pardakshna. Technically, the main building of the Golden temple consists of three floors. The top floor of the temple is coated with the gold exteriorly. The difference between the ground floor and the first floor is 26 feet, 9 inches. However, this difference reduces significantly between the later floors of the Golden temple.
On the top of this building, a Gombaz or a dome has been installed with the lotus petal. The construction of the Golden temple reflects the unity between the Hindus and Muslims which is rarely seen nowadays. The architecture of this building is among the best architectural specimens all across the globe.
