A citizen of the United States of America can apply for a government grant. Government grants are basically monetary funds presented by different government authorities, corporations, departments, foundations, etc. These grants are legal ‘money giveaways’. Federal grants are not to be mistaken with national help or federal loans. The block grants are the last type of grants, in which a large sum of money is granted to state or lower government bodies with specified provisions on how they must be employed.
Either you should be a U.S. citizen above 18 years of age or you should be a resident alien if you want to apply for and claim government grants. It is only if you fulfill these criteria will you be able to avail a copy of the grant application package, fill in the application and submit it.
