TaylorMade R9 TP Irons
The R9 TP irons feature a clean, classic look from address with a traditional player’s shape and profile. Progressive construction and face thicknesses provide more ball speed in the long irons and better control in the scoring irons. The long irons, through the 5 iron have Inverted Cone Technology and Velocity Control Chambers which promotes more consistent, faster ball speeds across the face.

The longer R9 TP irons feature TaylorMade’s Velocity Control Chamber which placed an enclosed compartment behind the clubface allowing a large area of the face to be unsupported. This increased COR to help with distance while the Chamber’s foam filling offers great sound and feel at impact. The Velocity Control Chamber also allows the weight to redistributed to give the R9 TP irons an exceptionally low centre of gravity and high moment of inertia which helps you launch them high and long.
The TaylorMade R9 TP irons also feature progressive face thickness which allows the COR to increase in the middle and long irons and feel to increase in the short irons. TaylorMade’s Inverted Cone Technology which promotes higher ball speed on off-centre hits to promote consistent distance control. Players can be confident that each R9 iron will deliver the expected distance on each swing.
The perimeter weighted clubhead offers a larger hitting area than the successful Tour Preferred irons, which works with the Velocity Control Chamber to make the longer irons much easier to hit. TaylorMade are confident that many players will reintroduce the 2 and 3 iron into their golf bag when they discover how easy to hit the R9 TP irons are. The TaylorMade R9 TP irons include KBS Tour Series steel shafts and are fully conforming with the 2010 groove rules.
