Skoda, the wholly owned subsidiary of Volkswagen group has launched a new sedan christened Skoda Laura RS in the Indian car market in Mumbai. This new sedan is the upgraded and improved version of the existing Skoda Laura TSi petrol variant. As for new Skoda Laura RS specifications, the new sedan is housed with a new 1.8 litre TSi engine which is capable of producing the maximum power of 160 bhp and the peak torque of 250 Nm. Rather than a 2 litre turbo petrol engine which generates 200 bhp power like its predecessor. A six speed manual transmission gearbox with no DSG is much the same as used in the existing version keeping the equation of car more affordable. Skoda has tagged the New Skoda Laura RS price very competitive and it seems that it will initiate the price war in the segment. The major modifications in the new Skoda Laura RS are mostly cosmetic in nature. The new Skoda Laura RS features a high standard of safety and security features like ABS with ESP technology, Traction Control, tyre pressure monitor, Anti Slip Regulation(ASR) and Electronic Differential Locking(EDL). The new sedan provides the high amount of localization to the Indian customers. The new Skoda Laura RS offers a high level of sporty suspension which can lower the cars Ground Clearance by a whopping 37 mm to 127 mm. Although the 127 mm Ground Clearance is quite low but its the best suitable for the Indian roads.
