How to make packing and moving a hassle free experience
Packing and moving can be really simple if you plan your packing and moving carefully. Does not matter how professional packer and mover you hire; if you cannot plan it properly it could be a headache. Any professional packers and movers would the jobs they way it should be, but you as a consumer should be careful to plan it in advance. Due to the nature of my job, I have to shift from one city to other in every two year and based on my experience, it is always good to schedule and plan your packing very carefully.
Below are some of the simple tips that could make your next packing and moving a really hassle free and joyful experience.
- Start planning and your packing minimum 7 days in advance. Packing all lots of goodies in one day is not good, so start this when you have time in your hand.
- Receive quotes from at least three packers and movers in your city so that you can compare the quality of services they have to offer and the cost and accordingly hire the best packers and movers company among them.
- Start taking apart furniture and other items that can be disassembled first.
- If electronic goods are to be packed and moved, make sure to unplug the power cable and clean it to avoid any moisture etc. if fridge is to be packed, make sure it defrosted and dry.
- Make sure to group items as per the use like all kitchen items in one group, bathroom items in another and label the boxes properly
- Put all of your necessary and small items in one box. Pack medicines and first aid boxes in one box and label it properly.
- Pack electronic equipments like DVD, home-theater, audio systems etc in their original boxes that was provided by the manufacturer using the thermo coal.
- Make sure all of the relevant cables are labeled properly so it would be easy for you to plug them once you unpack your goods at the destination.
- Don’t pack lots of items in one box; this will help you ensure there is no extra weight that cannot be carried in one box.
- Make sure you pack all your heavy items in smaller boxes. Keeping the weight of each of the boxes to the minimum weight to ensure the box doesn’t get damaged.
- Make sure to use thick cello tapes on all the boxes and if the weight is more then you may double the tapes.
