Every vehicle owner wants to be assured that his or her car is great value for money. Buying a used car can be a minefield full of unexpected surprises and unwelcome discoveries. That’s why you should always buy your used Peugeot or Vauxhall cars from official dealers, whose reputation is hung on their relationship with the marques in question.
The temptation to save a few hundred quid and buy private can be strong. Where that car has been sold from new from the same garage, and part exchanged later in its life for a newer vehicle, you’ll probably find the full service history is all linked to the same location.
There’s a lot to be said for having used Peugeot or Vauxhall cars where the garage you are taking them to already knows them inside out. Every second hand vehicle develops its own quirks and as parts are replaced through services and MOTs it will start to behave just very slightly differently from the same make and model of car with all new parts. That’s because the parts in your vehicle are worn down to different stages, commensurate with their different ages.
There are price benefits to be had when buying both Vauxhall cars and used Peugeot from a recognised dealer too. Part exchanges kept within the family of garages you patronise are often given on preferential terms – and as long as you retain your servicing and MOT with the same station, you are likely to make back the extra money that buying from a dealer cost in the first place, in a long lifetime of incidental savings and money off offers.
