One is the Red Arrow Trail, which takes about an hour to complete, the other is the Blue Arrow Trails, which is more strenuous and takes 3-4 hours to finish. You will be walking through some wonderful old-growth rain forest, giving you the opportunity for some great photography as you encounter fantastic views of Cairns, the coast, and Trinity Inlet.
In Centenary Lakes you will encounter the terrific rain forest boardwalk, Saltwater Lake and Freshwater Lake, Amazon Pond Lilies, indigenous fruit trees, and occasionally you’ll be able to see a crocodile.
If beaches are what you are after, then Cairns certainly won’t disappoint you. Trinity Beach, just a few kilometers north of the city is an exceptionally popular place for friends and family to get together for a barbecue. The beach front road is lined with restaurants, cafes, and shops.
