The best quality internet banking
Web Banking is an on the web self-service offer. Obviously net banking was voted the best banking of 2011. For me personally I’d want to learn how the voting had been done and whose votes they counted, but I suppose that’s beside the point.
However, let’s take a closer look at internet banking and see what the sales page promises. There are lots and lots of features listed on it and frankly, while they’re all part of the service, most should be self-evident?
Regardless, the internet banking sales page tells you that, once you’ve registered, you’ll be able to perform a whole slew of tasks. You’ll be able to make payments, perform transfers, get an online statement and apply for new products. These all can also be done via a mobile device, such as a smart phone. Aren’t these all supposed to be part of a solid banking service anyway? As already said above, these should be self-evident, but I do understand that they’re being listed there as some sort of reassuring promise that they are available. Just in case some skeptic decides to read the page. :)
Right, internet banking is supposed to be fast, convenient and easy to use. But then again, does that really set it apart from other providers’ internet banking services? Let’s see what else you can do with it.
Search your statements by date, amount or payment type.
Hmmm, not really a revolutionary feature, is it? I mean, if you’d walk into one of their offices you’d expect to have access to that anyway. Still, it IS convenient to have it at your fingertips.
View transactions back to 2002.
OK, this is quite convenient, access to a full ten years of transaction history. Not all banks allow you to do this via their online services, so Lloyds internet banking really does offer a premium here.
Download statements into a spreadsheet or financial software package.
Sort of on the fence about this one. It’s useful, of course, but again it should probably be obvious?
Check your up to the minute balance online.
I’d probably be quite disappointed if this weren’t possible.
Keep on top of the money going in and out of your accounts.
Oh really? Surely this is nothing but sales talk here, everyone in their right mind would probably expect this to be the case.
Move money between your Lloyds TSB accounts instantly.
Right, this IS useful.
Pay bills, friends and family fast with the new Faster Payments Service.
Isn’t this why you’d want to get Lloyds internet banking in the first place?
Receive your bills online.
Wonderful, gotta hate those pesky envelopes with bills in them!
Get email alerts when new bills arrive.
Fantastic way to help you not forget paying them.
Make Bill payments whenever you want.
Again, quite obvious, but I suppose its an useful reminder that you CAN do this, as opposed to walking into a branch office.
Anyway, overall this looks to be a solid service, very useful and convenient.
Pretty much all obvious features are there, plus a few bonus features which aren’t that obvious.
So not too shabby, lloyds internet banking!
