Skoda to launch Lauretta sedan in India
The car manufacturer, Skoda has unveiled the pictures of their upcoming new car, Skoda Lauretta Sedan sharing many attributes with Volkswagen Vento just a week prior to Frankfurt Motor show. The images are clearly revealing that the final production version of the car in Indian market is similar to the Volkswagen Polo/ Vento’s platform and that is referred to as Skoda Project L Concept. It is a hybrid car as it has derived inspiration of its design and make from Skoda Fabia, Skoda Superb, Volkswagen Vento and Polo like cars. Its front end is well sculpted thanks to a refurbished bonnet and prominent grille, all that greatly adds style to the car.
The idea looks quite striking. There is plenty of Skoda written all over Lauretta and that makes this car an expanded version of Skoda Laura. Even the side profile of the Mission L concept is very cool and has bestowed upon Skoda Laurette a strong Skoda identity. To suit the mind set of Indian buyers, its notchback design has been also toned down and replaced with a conventional boot.
Skoda Lauretta in India will be launched in both petrol and diesel variants and its 1.6 L engines are like that of VW Vento. Both the petrol and diesel engines will deliver a 105 bhp power and its diesel engine is automatic with five-speed transmission. The complete launch date and specifications are required for a good Skoda Lauretta Review but the company is yet to reveal that for its Indian counterpart. Skoda Lauretta Sedan will compete in the C class segment of sedan cars in India where the Skoda Lauretta Price is expected between Rs. 7 to 9 lakhs. The C class segment mid-sized saloon christened as Skoda Lauretta is speculated to launch soon in the coming festive season of India, most probably by next month.
