Skoda to launch Skoda Lauretta sedan with L concept
Skoda India is ready with it’s new C-segment sedan which will replace the Skoda Octavia in India. Skoda finally unveiled the name of their much awaited mission L concept sedan in Indian car market as Skoda Lauretta sedan. In the words of Autocar editor Hormazd Sorabjee, the Skoda Lauretta mid-sized sedan is based on the Volkswagen Vento which sounds like the fusion of words Laura and Jetta. Skoda Lauretta in India will be available in both petrol and diesel variant. The Skoda Lauretta Price for petrol variant is expected to be Rs. 6.79 lakh and the price for diesel variant is speculated to be Rs. 7.79 lakh. Skoda India yet to reveal the time line of launch and exact specification of the car in the Indian auto market.
Skoda Lauretta reviews suggest that the Lauretta comes with a 1.6-litre petrol engine which delivers a maximum power of 105PS at 5250 RPM and produces a torque of 153Nm at 3800 RPM. Skoda Lauretta diesel is expected to come with a 1.6-litre diesel engine which produces a maximum power of 105PS at 4400 RPM and generates a torque of 250Nm at 1500-2500 RPM. It will be a 5 speed manual transmission for it’s users. The headlamps of the Skoda Lauretta looks very similar to previous generation Skoda Superb. The side view of the car adorned with the prominent notchback design which adds a lot of flair to Skoda Lauretta sedan. It is expected that the car will be launch in three variants each in petrol and diesel guise.
Skoda Lauretta India features the tachometer, 2 trip meters and ORVM indicator. Lauretta comes with the integration of rear AC vent, steering adjustment, power windows and electric door mirror on both the sides which will enhances the soothing experience while driving. The Skoda Lauretta is expected to be launched around October this year, with deliveries starting from December 2011.
