When You Should Visit Europe
Planning a trip to Europe isn’t an easy task and there are many things that you must consider, but one of the most important things is to take into account the peak, shoulder and off-peak travel periods.
Peak periods are those in which many travels fly in and out of the country. Usually those periods are around Christmas, New Year, Easter and the summer holidays. Of course every country has some peak periods that are caused by a national holiday. During this time, tickets are more expensive and it is rather hard booking one as they are all taken. Traveling during the Christmas Holidays is also hard as ski resorts are overcrowded and the plane tickets are way too pricy. The shoulder period is usually around spring and autumn and the off-peak period is during the rest of the winter.
If you don’t much time to see Europe, then the best idea is to fly in and out during the shoulder period. During this time, prices are very low and the travel conditions will be near perfect. If your time to visit Europe isn’t limited than our advice is to go during the low season, because the prices will be at their lowest and there won’t be too much tourists. Never leave ticket booking for the last minute, but instead do it 3-4 months before leaving. During this period airlines offer huge discounts and you can end up hitting a great deal. Reserving your accommodation is also recommended as you will have a 100% certain place to stay and the price will be considerably lower.
The best times to visit Europe are during April to June and September to October. During this time the weather is warm and the holiday crowds have already left.
August is the worst month to visit Europe as this is the time when most Europeans take their holidays and visit nearby countries. Some cities will be deserted, others will be overcrowded and it won’t be easy to have a good time. The accommodation prices will be huge due to the limited number of rooms available. Tourist shops will be either overpriced or closed, because the owners have gone on a vacation as well. If you don’t have an alternative other than visiting Europe during the high season, then our recommendation is to stay away from the big cities and visit some off-track towns.
