What You Can Ask Your Commercial Printing Company

You need a lot of information to get your commercial printing mojo on but in order to get things going with your commercial printer you may need to do a little soul searching too. So before you meet up with the printers ask yourself these –

1. What print types do you want to have done?
A list is the best and most organized method to tell your printers what you need.  Enumerate everything including your ideas on how to personalize the prints so you can easily relay this to the printer.

2. How much print do you really need to be printed?
Think about the people who are to use your prints, are they a huge population? If yes you may want to cover only a partial few.  Make a rough estimate on the volume so you can have the printers estimate the costs.

3. Will you be using a new print set in a month or so?
A print that will be changed in a few days or so may require a thinner or a low grade paper, so do not spend to much on prints that are to be thrown away any day and replaced.

Once you have analyzed your commercial printing needs its time to buckle down and start learning more about it by asking your printer about it.  A few of the questions you could ask are written below but you can also add a few more to get answers for your particular need.

4. Are you limited to a particular printing method?
Your chosen printer should be multi-faceted and be able to print all your required items at the best quality possible and must never be limited to just one or two methods.  Pick a great printer that can make your prints shine figuratively and literally.

5. What packages would you recommend with my printing needs?
While you may have a particular print package in mind, it is also important to listen to your commercial printing company on the other packages they may have that can incorporate all your needs and add a few more extra to make it even better.

6. In what ways could you lower the price of the package?
There are some printers who would be glad to bring down the cost of your prints or add a few free stuff to entice you to get the package but you need to ask.  If you don’t ask they will think you are fine with the rate and leave it to that.

7. Designing is new to me, is there a way you could help me create the design?
Seek assistance if you have no idea what to do.  Be careful though if you are in a strict budget because prints that have very intricate designs will require a more detailed designing which means additional services and which means additional costs too.

8. I need my prints by tom or the next day, would you be able to print that fast?
Printers should always allow rush print jobs in certain instances however like limited manpower, lack of printing materials or printer problems like ink issues, your job request may not be entertained.  Most printers require a little additional service fee for the job so don’t be surprised if this comes out in your bill.

Information is important for commercial printing, be informed so you are not fooled by anyone.  Not all commercial printing company are in it for the sale, some prefer to be known for good work, lucky you if you get a hold of one of them.
