Emmy Awards 2011 Red Carpet Dresses
The 63rd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards was a gala of stars. Did you watch the live show on TV last night? If yes, you should be impressed with what you saw on the red carpet. Several stars broke the fashion rule — and looked amazing doing it. Check out the notable picks below and tell me who you think donned the look best.
Battle of the Red Dresses
There were more scarlet dresses than you could count. If you can believe it, these are just some of the women who wore red last night. Red prom dresses were in full force at the Emmys as seen on celebrities like Kate Winslet, Lea Michele, Nina Dobrev, and Kerry Washington. First of all, congrats to Kate Winslet for winning the best actress! And her look is simple but still stunning with a clean and expertly cut Elie Saab red gown. Lea Michele was spotted trying to stay cool. She chose a red dress cowl back Marchesa number with rosette shoulder details. It is interesting. But I honestly expected more especially since she’s become somewhat of a red carpet darling. It seemed like a last minute decision. Kerry Washington looked unfathomably hot in a strapless red Zuhair Murad Couture gown. My jaw dropped to the floor when I saw how amazing she looked. In spite of the red lips and clutch, the overall look wasn’t an overkill of the color in my eyes. Definitely it is one of my favorite red carpet dresses of the night.
Intricately Embroidered Prom Dress
Plenty of big stars from the small screen turned up on the red carpet, but many of their looks played it too safe or missed the mark. Gwyneth Paltrow was the evening’s sole risk taker, and it paid off. Wearing an intricately embroidered Emilio Pucci evening dress that showed a flash of midriff, Gwynnie gave us a sneak preview of Peter Dundas’ Spring collection, which will make its catwalk debut in Milan later this week.
Black Sparkle Evening Dresses
Julie Bowen was a winner on Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, who topped off her silvery gown with a Judith Leiber clutch and Neil Lane jewels. While the deep V-neck and beautiful appliques prom dressing made Emily Blunt one of the most glamorous star. Personally, there was so much to love about Evan Rachel Wood’s Elie Saab look the train, the sparkle, the shape. It was all super-glamorous.
