A green card is the permanent resident card of United States. Therefore Green Card bears immense importance for those who are intending to stay at United States or are planning for US citizenship. Green card application is the other way for US citizenship application. For getting a new green card, the primary application mode is termed as adjustment of status. The form is available for local USCIS office. In addition to filling the form, the applicant has to submit his latest photos and required documents, a letter of approval from his/her current employer, birth certificate of the applicant, and some photocopy of passport pages. After submission of all these initial documents, biometric verification is done and if all these processing run satisfactorily, a green card is issued after a one-to-one interview of the applicant with USCIS authority. The green card is usually mailed at the residential address of the applicant with one month of his interview.
