The entire approach to what you are doing changes completely when you start a business blog. It takes some work to get your money making blog off to a good start, but we have some great info to help you do that.
No matter what kind of business blog you run, it would be in your best interest to look professional to your potential customers. If you have a serious audience, then do not waste their time with discussions on silly issues, etc. Making sure your overall impact is a good one is not hard to do, and it is something that will only help you. However, this doesn’t mean your blog should look like a site filled with dry, corporate content. Yes, you can scare people away with your personal stamp, but that is fine just as long as it is not the majority of your audience. Strike a fine balance between being professional and personal. Keep in mind that your blog is after all a social platform, and your readers will follow you only when you show them how social you can be and when they see your unique personality shine through the blog.
If you blog is about something for which you feel strongly, then let your feelings be known. Regardless of what you do, we all know some areas seem to spark greater emotions than others. If you work alone, then chances are excellent that you will do a lot of things, and there is too much out there to not have strong feelings about some aspect of it. But you cannot overuse your strong emotions, and another approach is with the more philosophical posts. It is really hard to beat sincere emotions, and your audience will be able to sense that, and they will be drawn to you more.
People who blog but whose hearts are not in it can be spotted a mile away by their audience. Make a good time out of it as much as possible, and when you do that everything will be much easier. One day you could discover that you need to get away from the blog, and that is perfectly fine if you do not make it an extended break. If you suddenly realize you hate it or dislike the subject, then you will not continue with it because that is just normal. Do not be afraid to show your more personal side because that can often help to make the bonds closer. It is totally normal for your readers to take a break from the action, so do not get alarmed about that. Continuing to do what you know works is the course of action to take, and you will see things return to normal.
