American Apparel and Footwear Association (AAFA) praised the U.S. Senate, updated two expiring trade preference programs. For the United States Senate voted last night to extend the Andean Trade Preference Act and the Generalized System of Preferences to clear obstacles. American Apparel & Footwear Association is now urging Obama to sign the extension of the project immediately in order to prevent the U.S. apparel and footwear industry faces further business disruption.
Association President and CEO of Burke, said: "I applaud the U.S. Senate failed to prevent these important items to take action. Now Obama has been extended as soon as possible to sign these projects, so that our industries can continue to conduct business."
Burke said: "If these projects to extend the end of the year are not available, the U.S. apparel and footwear industry will show negative growth for the fourth consecutive year.
