Anxi has the most self-contained tea institution over the whole country including tea board of trustee, agricultural tea bureau, tea corporation, tea section station, tea vocational technical college, tea association, tea inspection center and so on, to constitute the perfect management service system combined with government’s macro-regulatory management, sector service and corporation assistance.
Every year, people hold a thousand tea working conference in Anxi. At that time, the Anxi prefectural government gets together with local organs, villages and towns, tea producing villages, large scale tea enterprises and tea-related administration sections to generate tea development tactics for the whole year.
The Anxi prefectural government has been regurgitated tea industry by the income of cane and iron technics and metallurgy of building materials. The technology content of Anxi tieguanyin tea industry becomes higher and higher. Fujian Anxi tieguanyin tea biotechnology corporation is a new high-tech enterprise in Quanzhou that collects tea biological study, producing and marketing and chooses raw and auxiliary material such as taintless tea as producing base. The produced tea Y-aminobutyric acid fills the domestic gaps and becomes the perfect raw material of functional products that prevent cardiovascular disease, senile dementia, tristimania and stabilize blood pressure.
Anxi also participated to make national standards for Anxi tieguanyin tea and Anxi oolong tea. In 1988, Anxi participated to the job to make standards for “oolong tea standard syntheses”. In July of 1990, Fujian Bureau of Standard Measurement issued “oolong tea standard syntheses” as the local standard, which is the first oolong tea assorted standard in China. In 1998, Anxi was listed as the class 1 item of national greater and better yields standard demonstration plot. In 2004, Anxi tieguanyin tea was protected by original region and it made the national standard “product of original region: tieguanyin tea” and actively carried it out.
At the time guarantee the tea quality and protect Anxi tieguanyin tea collective brand, Anxi leading tea enterprises have made a lot of efforts to popularize tieguanyin tea culture. Weiyin Tea has founded tieguanyin tea culture park; Sanhe tea enterprise has constructed tea culture and art museum; Anxi tieguanyin group, eight-horse, huaxiangyuan, zhongmin weishi and gande longxin corporations have prepared to build the tea fazenda collecting producing, processing, culture spreading, sightseeing, brand marketing and image displaying.
Anxi tieguanyin tea industry is the one with highest industrialization degree in China’s tea industry for it collects producing, processing, marketing, mechanism, packing, printing, transportation and logistics. Inspired by the tea mechanical workout in Taiwan in 1980s, Anxi started to try to produce tea machine. By now, the precision and practical function of tea machine in Anxi has exceeded that in Taiwan. There are 30 large-scale tea machine producing enterprises in Anxi now and the annual value of production is 400 million yuan. Inspired by package of Taiwan tea in late 1990s, Anxi natives created vacuum packing for oolong tea and 7g standard T-bag. Now in Chinese tea market, there’s a tea packing street and its annual value of production is 200 million yuan. There’s a specialized logistics transportation corporation in Anxi and it has eight special-route nonstop to all tea key distribution areas over the country. Anxi tea industry also spurs development of catering, hotels, tea food, tea cultural tourism and real estate so that to form the nice phase of “hundreds of industries spurred by one industry”. The two tea seasons in spring and autumn every year are the peak periods of Anxi catering and hotel industries, some teamen that can’t be accommodated even live in the neighboring Nanan county.
Till now, tea industry has become the biggest livelihood industry in Anxi. The Anxi prefectural government always keeps the awareness of unexpected development and guides tea planters to cope with market changes. About future, Anxi tea planters, tea sellers and tea officials have full confidence. Chen Shuichao says that as long as continuing to improve tea quality and keep tea industry developing healthy and lasting, whatever problems we meet, we’ll try our best to resolve them.
Now, Anxi tea industry has gradually realized the transform from individual household workshop to socialization cooperation, from single planting industry to multi-channel management, from quantity production to quality efficiency. Just as a cup of tie guan yin bitterness ends and happiness begins, the Anxi tea industry started to get on soundings.
