To Fight The Fat

Are you at the point where you feel that losing weight is JUST a dream? Believe me when I say that most of us have been there before. You don’t hear about it because many people view this as failure and as you know, humans aren’t that big on talking about their personal failures. But before you reach for your favorite soda drink to drown your sorrows, has it ever occurred to you that it wasn’t your fault to begin with?

There are countless diet programs out there that only seems to help you pack on the pounds instead of losing it. Why is this? Well, to fight your enemy, you have to get to know it better first. And this is where most diet programs fail. Diet programs always tend to cause our metabolism to drop because they employ the restrictive dieting method a.k.a STARVING YOURSELF. If your body thinks its starving, it’ll switch into survival mode. What happens is that it’ll store any food that it can get and turn it into FAT. And that my friend, is another reason why some people who go through dieting only ends up FATTER than they first started.

So dieting Makes you FAT, ironic? You bet.

To get rid of the fat, we have to USE IT UP. Yup, we gotta burn the fat reserves that’s tucked around our body. To aid in the fat-burning-rate, you would have to increase your metabolism. As we age, our metabolism rate tends to drop, that is why the older we get, the easier it seems for us to get fat doesn’t it?

The good news is that there is something that you can do to increase your metabolism rate. As you can expect what I would say, yup, it’s EXERCISE. But I’m gonna go the extra mile here and tell you the specific type of exercise you should be doing. STRENGTH TRAINING. And no, I’m not asking to bulk up like a body-builder. Just enough to develop a toned and only slight muscular body.

The reason is, when your body has more muscle mass the more your metabolism rate will go up to help maintain, sustain and repair the muscles. And when your metabolism rate is higher….Yup you guessed it, you burn more fat. And the best thing is, when you have more muscle mass, you’ll still be burning the fat while you sleep! In fact, we are burning fat all the time, even when you’re sitting down and reading this, you’re STILL burning fat. What we are trying to do here is to increase the rate that we burn it.

Now, allow me to clear the air about weight loss. People often get confused with weight loss and fat loss and they are not the same thing. What YOU want is FAT LOSS. What WE all want is fat loss.

Weight loss doesn’t mean you’re losing just fat because you can potentially lose body mass, bone, muscle, tissue, water and blood and it’s still considered losing weight. So when you start to develop more muscle mass, you WILL gain weight but make no mistake, that weight comes from the muscle mass gained and that’s a GOOD kind of weight gain. It’s very easy to see changes to your body when you lose fat and gain muscle, you stomach will grow flatter, your arms are toned, and your clothes WILL be looser. And the more muscle you have, the more fat you will burn, easy-peasy yeah?

But be mindful of what you eat as well. Don’t get me wrong here, you can eat, in fact, YOU MUST EAT but it’s WHAT YOU EAT that matters. Gulping down canned soda drinks after an exercise will do you no good at all. Instead, opt for a homemade fruit juice or good ol’ sky juice is always best option. Also try to avoid sugar and heavily-processed foods.

When it comes to exercise, it should always be done in moderation. Overdoing it will only injure your body and this defeats the purpose of exercise – which is to improve overall physical health. ALWAYS give your body ample time to heal in-between workouts. It’s best to rest for 1-2 days in between intense workouts and if you feel sore or aching then give it even more time in between. Always listen to your body. Pain is your body telling you that something is wrong. Fat loss is ultimately just a matter of eating right and exercising. Keep on the path you’re well on your way to fat loss reality.

I always had trouble when it comes to proper nutrition, until I found Isabel Del Los Rios’ The Diet Solution Program. In fact, I found out that it’s not a diet program at all. Instead, it’s more of a healthy lifestyle eating program which educates you on which food is best for fat-loss and fat-burning. I learned so much from it and I dare to say it’s one of the main contributing factor that helped me reach my weight loss goal. Program details and MY story at http://dietsolutionprog.info.
