I Have Solved Horrible NTLDR Errors In My Computer In Less Than Five Minutes
It is not an unusual thing for people to panic when they see an “NTLDR Missing” error message when they are trying to boot their computer. You too might have heard one of your friends describe how horrible it was for them to handle this error. How they rushed calling their PC technician and ended up paying a high bill for his visit. But if you really know about this error, it is just like any of the other common PC errors. In fact, you will just laugh and deal with it in a very relaxed manner, without having to take any serious efforts.
You will not trust if anybody tells you that it is possible to fix this NTLDR error in less than five minutes. But when you yourself will try it you will not only trust it but also recommend it to your friends. Let us see first, what this NTLDR really is and why is it so important? Well, no doubt the most oblivious answer to this question is that it is an abbreviation used for “NT BootLeader”. Yes, true then the next point is why is it so important?
It is a small program code in Windows versions based on the NT kernel examples of which will include operating systems like NT, 2000 or XP. Basically NTLDR is designed to boot a system with Windows operating system from a partition on its hard drive. It usually resides on the primary hard drive of the PC, in the main windows partition. For your system to boot seamlessly, without any PC errors, it needs to have two files namely NTLDR and boot.ini
When you encounter PC errors like “NTLDR missing ” what you need to do is, check whether your main Windows partition is accessible and contains these two files as well. But the question is how to do it when you are not able to boot your system in the first place. Well don’t panic, you can use one of the many third party booting tools to deal with it. If you don’t have one of these tools, you can still use your original Windows installation CD. Not only you can boot a basic Windows with that but also you can fix the main partition of your PC.
Before going for it, check if the MBR or master boot record of your PC is pointing to the correct boot location. Has the installation of a New HD recently or Bios change has pointed MBR to incorrect boot location? If you have changed Bios settings try to restore them to default settings.
Sometimes a missing or loose IDE cable can also cause NTLDR error. Make sure all cables are firmly attached to your computer. Failure of system hard drive is also responsible for PC errors like “NTLDR Missing”. If you have checked and found everything to be in order then you may need to restore NTLDR and boot.ini from your windows CD or a third party tool. Repair windows using the system repair option on the CD or a commercial tool. If none of these works for you, then it is because you might be having fault in HDD or IDE cable and replacing it might get you out of the PC errors you are facing.
