The Apple ibook store is the standard interface to Apples online book store called ibooks which comes with both the ipad and ipad 2 tablets, The range and quality of ebooks is high as is the price and limitations of buying ebooks apposed to hardback books. The Store is slick and highly graphical but makes for a nice user experience as with any Apple gadget.
Limitations to buying ebooks for your tablet ereaders can be that buyers of digital books cannot resell their ebooks easily or even trade them like is possible with conventional paper books. When you consider a ebook costs the same as the paper book the value of buying from services like amazon or apple at the same price as the conventional book does not seem like good value for consumers.
One way users can increase the value they recieve when buying ebooks is by using a service like Ebooks for iPad which allows users to surf a online library that is huge and nearly 35,000 ebooks at last count and members can download every one of these ebooks to their ipad. This means if you compare the cost of $40 for lifetime memership to the $10-$15 you will pay per ebook from most conventional services for a new or bestselling ebook or novel you will save hundreds possibly thousands of dollars depending on how much you read.
Another Service users of the apple ipad 2 should take notice of is a little known publishing site called Scribd, this site allows anyone to join then download anything from the site. A lot of the ebooks are short stories, research papers and news articles. Their are also a lot of full ebooks available totally free of charge and instantly. This service is not without risk in that on one occasion i downloaded an ebook from a user that was embedded with a virus which caused my tablet to crash and need reinstalling but no harm done, you must watch out for some users on this site.
