Feel Good Look Good With Marie Antoinette Wig

THE embarrassment and anxiety of losing hair due to cancer therapies or illness has been eased since the recent opening of a wig library at the Manning Base Hospital’s oncology unit in Taree.

Registered nurse Maureen Hogan is co-ordinating the wig library with Petra Byrne, who has volunteered her time and experience as a hairdresser. Wearing a Marie Antoinette Wig is another way to make you happy and feel good .

It is well known that chemotherapy for cancer can result in hair loss. Chemotherapy drugs are intended to attack any rapidly multiplying cells and hair roots fit this description perfectly.

The new library does not just benefit cancer bearers; other patients of the hospital who have suffered dramatic hair loss due to illness can also take advantage of this free program. One way you can try to change this embarrassed situation is wearing Marie Antoinette Wig. As Halloween is coming next month, the majority of people buy Cheap Cosplay Costumes and match with Halloween Costume Wigs to play trick and treat in that night.

The effect on a person’s appearance and self-esteem can be drastic, particularly for women.

“We’re here to make the ladies look good, so they feel better,” said Ms Byrne, who is also a member of the Look Good!, Feel Good! campaign.

“It’s extremely rewarding and all about the fun we have together and can wear Marie Antoinette Wig celebrate together.”

The wig library provides wigs at no cost plus wig fitting, with the Marie Antoinette Wig as closely matched to the client’s original style and colour as possible.

The need for this local service came with Taree’s ever-growing population.

Before the wig library’s establishment, patients had to travel to Newcastle’s Mater Hospital to be fitted with a wig. Ms Byrne also told The Clarion that before the library began patients would have to send a sample of their original hair down to Newcastle, where the wig would be made and later fitted.

“Sometimes this worked and sometimes it went awfully wrong,” Ms Byrne said.

Oncology Unit nursing manager Maria Biancotti thanked the Mater Hospital of Newcastle for the donation of several wigs to help establish the greatly-needed service.

The library is a non-profit organisation and is always appreciative of any donations made. All Marie Antoinette Wigs are donated from countries over the world.

“It’s not just for the ladies though, it’s for anyone from toddlers to teens as well as the men!” Ms Byrne said.

“This library is something we will have forever here to support those suffering in Taree, until a cure for cancer is found.”

If anyone is interested in donating money for the purchase of Marie Antoinette Wig for the service, it can be forwarded to the Oncology Unit Manning Base Hospital, P O Box 35, Taree, 2430.
