When You Know BOTOX® Cosmetic Didn’t Work
If you just had a BOTOX® treatment in Toronto to erase your wrinkles, you’re probably excited to see the results of your treatment. After all, you spent the time and money to get the injection, so you want to see the results. Unfortunately, you won’t see anything improve in the first couple of days after your injection.
BOTOX® needs a bit of time to work. Typically, you should expect to see no improvement in the first 2-3 days, aside from the subsiding of any swelling or bruising that may have resulted as related to the injection (not the product itself). During this time, patients tend to get very irritated because they don’t see their wrinkles go away, but give it a bit of time. You should see a gradual improvement with the full results in about a week or two. Some patients even experience an improvement within 4 days of the injection, but this really depends on how your body takes the product.
If you don’t see anything happen within 3 weeks, you should call your injector. Reasons such as an insufficient amount or inaccurate injection site may have caused the BOTOX® to be ineffective. Call your injector and let them know. You should be able to come in for an appointment to show them the results of your treatment, otherwise they won’t be able to know either way. Typically, photos are taken prior to injection so you can also refer to those to prove your point (although sometimes patients realize that the BOTOX® actually did work, but they just didn’t notice the results because they were so gradual in appearing and they got used to it!).
In the event your BOTOX® treatment didn’t work, make sure you complain about it and request a refund or further treatment. Depending on what your original request was and the reason for the ineffective results, you may be able to get your next treatment free, which would be a perfect solution for this problem.
