Get to know the different varieties of canopies!
The variety of canopies that is available on the market is exceptionally extensive. Whatever size, shape color, style or use is required there will be something available to suit those requirements.
The traditional canopy is one where the rear in attached to a building’s wall and the front is supported by columns coming up from the floor with a cross bar along the top. These types of canopies are most commonly seen over patios, decking or walkways and are a great way for you to enjoy the garden without being too exposed to the elements. Many of these canopies can be rolled up when not being used which protects them from the weather and means they are convenient and very easy to use.
Pitched roof canopies are very useful as carports or patio covers. These tend to be a roofed structure which has no walls. If you don’t have a garage then these can be used as a car canopy to prevent you getting wet while entering or leaving your car. They provide limited shelter for storage and are very useful if you have an exterior dining area on your patio protecting from rain and sun.
Over door canopies can add a decorative and protective flair to the outside of your property. Over the main door, they can provide some protection from the rain when a visitor is waiting outside. They look modern and sleek and create the illusion of class and finesse.
A car port or car canopy can be a very useful as it offers low maintenance and low cost protection for your car, caravan or any other vehicle. They do not consume too much room on your property, unlike a garage, and they come in a variety of styles and designs making it easy to fit in with your surroundings. They can also come equipped with guttering and downpipes which mean that you won’t get drenched when you walk out from underneath it. They can attach directly to the house exterior wall or freestanding ones are available with pitched, curved or sloping roofs.
Commercial canopies tend to be much larger and are extremely practical for hotels, cafés, garden centers and other businesses. Hotels use decorative ones as an extension to their bars and lounges and they are especially convenient for wedding ceremonies and receptions. They can extend café facilities and seating areas giving a more versatile eating area such as for dog owners. Garden centers often possess them as an outdoor area for their gardening products which are sheltered from rain and wind. So although they are obviously designed to be outside, customers do not really want to be buying products that have already been exposed to the elements as this would severely shorten their shelf life. Other businesses such as wood or brick merchants may also find canopies worthwhile. Their products often need to be stored outdoors but the weather will rot natural materials such as planks of wood therefore keeping the wood under a large canopy would be advantageous.
Generally speaking, whatever type of canopy is needed, they are all very useful and convenient, whether it’s a car canopy or a decorative, commercial party canopy .
