Alison Brie Schermerhorn
For a while Alison Brie attended Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow. Her jobs before making becoming a tv celebrity involved being a clown at kids birthday parties, & performing in local theatre in California. Amongst Brie’s initial television roles was the small character Nina, a trainee hair stylist, on Hannah Montana. During her college years probably the most “far out” thing Brie had to do was playing a chorous of Asian hookers donning miniskirts and four inch stilletos – she had to learn stick combating and also hand to hand combat coupled with traditional Chinese fan dancing and singing.
When Brie was first questioned what she could possibly take on from her onscreen relationship on Mad Men and then utilize to her real-life relationships; Brie replied “Trudy has taught me that one of the most important things is compromise. Just what keeps her & Pete going strong is that she can go with the flow.”
Brie likens herself to Alice from Alice in Wonderland being “wide eyed however precocious and also above all curious. I like that about her – just takes tablets from a unfamiliar person.” She made Maxim’s ’10 Hot one hundred list at # 99 as well as Maxim’s 2011 Hot 100 list at # 49. She is accustomed to getting her clothes off often reminding of her College days, “In college I was ready to release the fury. I was a bit of a nudist in university. It was so pleasurable. It was a bit more of a funny factor – clothing is an option everywhere but the cafeteria… It genuinely relied on my dorm mates mood, If I was feeling like she was having a bad day… Picture me exposed swinging from the tree (naked)…I perform truly good naked pet impressions.”
Brie admits to getting enticed to characters that are specifically extremely strung. Her character in scream 4 is particularly more evil than her other two well-known personas of Mad Men & Commnity but Brie does declare she is a person with high energy and is singularly focused. What almost all the characters appear to reveal is a specific level of ambition. Rebecca (from Scream 4) is focused to the point of missing sensitivity to others.
Of this specific character Brie states “It was really fun to play a bitchy promotion type”. Annie (from Community) previously used to be far more targeted on her homework, but she has grown to be more emotional, and she’s very sidetracked, by males, or issues in the study team. Trudy (in Mad Men) mellowed out whilst she was pregnant, and then kind of clicked back into it after she had the baby.
Of her character Alison Brie claims, “I think that Annie still seems to have a lot of developing to do. I enjoy watching Annie kind of go through diverse stages and meeting different guys and having different fads, but she’s such a flexible character that I would simply like to see new things unveiled that she can try, because everything Annie attempts she truly goes for it.” Brie also confesses to living somewhat vicariously through Annie saying, “It’s exciting to look at Annie blossom out of her shell. She is turning into more of a lady, romantically. And in some other ways growing old. And that is fun to perform, to go back to that time and seeing every thing for the first time & think of your first crush, and your first kiss. It tends to make it a exciting character for me to play simply because she’s so trusting & constantly learning so much about life.”
