5 Months Pregnant or the Easiest Time of Pregnancy

Being in the middle of your pregnancy is never easy, but you might get through it easier if you know what to expect.

The 5 months pregnancy and what to expect

You can say that you already have a big baby of 8 inches when you are 18 weeks pregnant. The bones are getting stronger through the process of ossification. The finger pads are getting formed and so are the fingertips.

Since the little one is growing, it could be difficult for the mother to sleep. In order to find a more comfortable position, you could be using pregnancy pillows. It is also possible that you will sleep better if you do some pelvic tilts before going to bed and also make sure that you urinate before going to sleep.

One of the most interesting periods of your pregnancy is when you are 19 weeks pregnant. This is because in a very short period of time the little one gains 8 ounces in weight. In case you will have a girl, the ovaries are formed during this week. Also lanugo appears on the skin of the little one. It is a kind of fine hair that is still visible after birth.

The second part of 5 months pregnancy

Lanugo is still present when you are 20 weeks pregnant, and it has protective purposes. In this period you might find out about the sleeping cycles of the little one. The majority of the mothers have an ultrasound in this period, and this is the first time when they see their baby.

By this time you get to the middle of your pregnancy. In this period the belly button will press out, because the uterus is pressing against the wall of the abdomen. Some of the mothers can experience problems breathing and this will persist until delivery.

In the moment when you are 21 weeks pregnant the little one is moving all over, and then he or she settles, usually in a head down position. Also this is the moment when mothers try different methods to determine the gender of the baby. In case you would like to know the gender it is possible that the little one will not cooperate.

When you are 22 weeks pregnant the baby will develop the eyebrows and now he or she is practicing the extra-uterine breathing. In this period the mothers are quite active, but they still feel some pain.
