Reasons Why Your BOTOX® Injection Didn’t Work
Toronto BOTOX® is a fantastic way to get rid of your wrinkles. It’s the preferred wrinkle treatment for celebrities and socialites (although they won’t admit it), as well as people who just want to look and feel great. But although it is the most popular cosmetic treatment performed in North America, it sometimes, admittedly, doesn’t work. Why could that be? Well, here are some possible reasons why your treatment didn’t work:
The injected amount wasn’t sufficient. The wrinkle you want to erase may have required more dosage.
You didn’t follow the post-care instructions. Some things, such as lying down immediately after your treatment or drinking alcohol, can hinder results or even be life-threatening. Never do something you are advised not to do to ensure you get the most out of your treatment, and protect your health.
You have a fast metabolism. Patients with a fast metabolism will find that though they get the results they want, the improvement doesn’t last as long as they wished. This is because their body processes BOTOX® and eliminates it from the body faster. You’ll see results, but they’ll disappear faster. Diet pills may also contribute to a shorter lifespan of results.
Although this is very rare, it can happen. The product was diluted too much. BOTOX® is shipped in a powdered form that needs to be reconstituted. The injector must add some fluid (sterile saline) to the BOTOX® powder before injection.
You are resistant to BOTOX®. This is another rare factor that could make treatment ineffective for you.
BOTOX® is not the right treatment, and rather a filler should be used instead. Fillers, such as Juvederm and Restylane, plump up wrinkles and this may be more suitable in achieving your aesthetic goals than BOTOX®, which only targets dynamic wrinkles. Proper assessment is essential to determine which treatment is best for you.
Even the most experienced and skilled medical professional may not be able to achieve the results you want. However, they will reduce the negative side effects and risks related to the procedure, guaranteed. Give your injector a chance to rectify the problem as well.
You can help improve the effectiveness of your treatment by talking to your injector and letting them know what you’d like to achieve during the consultative process prior to injection. By communicating and following pre and post care instructions, you’ll improve the rate of effectiveness of your BOTOX® treatment.
