How Bluetooth Can Attract People into Your High Street Store

If your business has any kind of presence on the high street, chances are you’ve felt the full sting of the current recession. So many shops are shutting, and competition is fierce when it comes to getting potential customers to visit your store. The fact of the matter is that there are fewer customers out and about, so it’s extremely important that the ones that are out have a reason to come and check out your products, or else your business could be next.

The question is, then, how do you attract these potential customers into your building in order to view the great deals and services you can offer them? Due to the rate at which technology advances nowadays, there are more and more ways in which to advertise your business to the public.

There are obviously the more traditional ways of advertising, such as taking out an ad in a newspaper or magazine: unfortunately there are no guarantees that these adverts will ever be viewed, plus you cannot be particularly visual as there is not much space, so to advertise what you’re offering will require a fair amount of text, which may be completely ignored. In the case of newspapers, there’s no guarantee that your ad will even be in colour, and it’s worth bearing in mind that not everybody reads the same newspaper: in fact, the leading nationwide newspaper, if you’re lucky enough to be able to afford the exorbitant fee that it will cost you to get your advert displayed for just one day before the next edition comes out, has a market share of less than a third.

There are the slightly newer, but still tried and true methods of advertising such as radio and TV. With radio you cannot be at all visual, and there will have to be quite an amount of speech in order to get your point across. Unfortunately many people will change stations during ad breaks, and there’s a propensity for jingle based adverts to get annoying quickly, which will turn customers off your brand. TV shares some of the same problems, and the fact that it’s only available in the homes of your potential customers means that they will have to remember you when they’re next out if they’re going to visit.

It may be, then, that Bluetooth could really help you out. By sending small ads to customers’ mobile phones, it won’t cost you much to advertise for a long period of time, to everybody in the vicinity. You can be quite visual, and nearly everybody has a mobile phone, with smartphone ownership on the rise, you can be sure that it will be viewed.

If your business has a presence on the high street you can attract customers into your shop via Bluetooth marketing services such as JungleDrum. Customers are beginning to realise that to get the best deals they have to find new channels.
